Introducing our BIM/CAD Standards
Scan2Plan is 2 years old!
This Spring launches Scan2Plan 2.0. One of the new ways Scan2Plan 2.0 generates value is the introduction of our BIM/CAD standards. We have created 3 standards at 3 Levels of Development (LoD):
Scan2Plan projects can be modeled at one standard or as a hybrid standard to match your project's design priorities.
Case Study: "The Castle" from HBO's The Gilded Age
We chose Troy NY's Paine Castle as a case study for its custom built unique geometry. The high level of detail required for historic preservation is one of Scan2Plan's great competencies. We're also able to show custom geometry at a generic level in the LoD 200 model. As we move from generic to specific, approaching the uncanny valley of “identical to reality,” LoD is not a clear definition, but a language to define detail.
As Seen On TV
The Paine Castle has been featured in Martin Scorsese's film The Age of Innocence as well as The Gilded Age airing now on HBO. At the time of its completion, in 1896, it was considered the "Grandest House in Troy," which was one of the wealthiest cities in the United States. The Castle has been owned by the alumni of the Alpha Tau chapter of Pi Kappa Phi (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) for over 70 years. The Foundation has embarked on an ambitious plan for a complete renovation of The Castle, restoring it to its former glory and introducing new adaptive design concepts.
